Gun Interactive is kicking off 2023 with a brand-new BTS video for their upcoming title The Texas Chain Saw Massacre along with a new track from the companion album. The latest behind-the-scenes video focuses on the motion-capture animation process and the new track released as a single from Remains, the companion album to the game’s official soundtrack.

The team at Gun Interactive is using motion capture to replicate and build upon the infamous performances from the 1974 film. The game is shot on-location at The House of Moves in Los Angeles and the latest video gives horror fans a window into the method of mo-cap, illustrating some of the key choreography and physical performance that goes into animating character movements. Gun Interactive explains throughout the video along with the talent working on the game such as industry veteran and horror icon Kane Hodder.
This is the first video in the series and the developer will release additional BTS videos showcasing more of the ongoing development of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in the coming days. Last week, the track ‘Tragic’ was released from ‘Remains’ companion album, written and performed by Wes Keltner and Jim Bonney. Tragic brings with it heaviness as it conjures images of industrial stagnation and rhythmic horror with it.
Head of Brand Strategy Matt Szep details in an official blog post on the Gun Interactive Community Hub pages: ‘track over track, Remains tells a story, creatively, of a move forced by modernization, into a place much darker and desperate.’ Fans will find everything from guitar to drums to the Apprehension Engine – the singular musical instrument capable of producing inimitable horror soundscapes – in the track as it weaves a tale of dark abstraction and the unstoppable march of time. It greatly fits with the overall theme and world of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
Previously in October 2022, Gun Interactive revealed the main theme music of the game, and back in June 2022, the first official gameplay trailer of the game was also released. The asymmetrical multiplayer horror game was announced back in December 2021. Texas Chain Saw Massacre will release on PC and consoles however no confirmed release date has been announced at this point.
