The Ascent Heavy Gunner Build Guide – Behemoth Tank, Skills, Weapons, Abilities

The Ascent Heavy Gunner Build Guide

In this The Ascent Heavy Gunner Build Guide, we will show you how to go for the Behemoth Tank heavy gunner build. As you can guess from the name itself, this heavy gunner build is made to shred enemy targets to pieces with a continuous barrage of bullets.

This build comes with the mech suit that lets you fire bullets at targets while pairing with skills and abilities that deal additional damage. While the Shotgun Specialist is another build that allows you to get close, the Behemoth tank offers you plenty of ammo and armor that can soak up incoming damage, meanwhile decimating targets at will.

The Ascent Heavy Gunner Build Guide

Below we have detailed the heavy gunner build with the best skills, weapons, armor, and augmentation abilities.

Best Skills

There are 4 skills you need to have for this build:

  • Weapon Handling
  • Tactical Sense
  • Crit Hit Rate
  • Balance

Weapon Handling is a skill that will help you in the early stages of this build. This is because you won’t be having heavy weapons initially, forcing you to rely on regular weapons as you level up.

The other two skills are Critical Hit Rate and Tactical Sense. The Critical Hit Rate will be best for your miniguns that you carry in this build. Miniguns in general aren’t that accurate as they have a high rate of fire, but securing crit hits on targets can make the difference when you are fighting multiple targets. The Tactical Sense skill speeds up the recharge of your turrets and bots along with throwable grenades.

The last skill is Balance, which is also another important skill that you will need, considering how heavy weapons have a movement penalty.

Best Weapons and Tactical Gear

The Pocket Mech is a mechanical suit that best defines this build along with the heavy weapons that you carry. The Mech suit gives you immunity when you wear it and gives you plenty of rounds to rain on the targets.

While you won’t always be using your mech suit, you will need weapons that are more suited for this playstyle. These weapons are the MG1000 Strikebreaker Minigun and Strobos minigun. However, both the miniguns will not be available immediately, which means you need to rely on similar if not the same weapons. In this case, you can have the Dread or the EBR Enforcer weapons until you can obtain the miniguns from the vendor.

Best Augmentation Abilities

Moving on to the augmentations for this build, you have two abilities that will help actively help you in combat. The first is the Stasis Stomp which massively helps when you have multiple enemies nearby, or when things get overwhelming with targets all around you. The Stasis Stomp basically freezes enemies as they enter a stasis effect, giving you all the freedom to take out targets however you please.

The second ability you need to pair with the Stasis Stomp is the Spiderbots. These are companion bots that explode once they choose a target. The Behemoth Tank build is all about how you can decimate opponents, and the Spiderbots ability is there to make things work in your favor.
