Publisher Meridiem Games has announced that it is releasing a special physical edition of The Crown of Wu for the PS5 called Legend Edition. The Crown of Wu Legend Edition will be released on PS5 in Q1 2023. The Crown of Wu is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Red Mountain. It is inspired by Journey to the West, a classic Chinese novel about the Monkey King, Sun Wukong. Meridiem Games has released a new trailer celebrating the announcement that you can check out below:
In The Crown of Wu, you will get to explore a future-past fantasy world as you fight alone against enemies and overcome complex obstacles to retrieve the great Crown stolen by the antagonist Zhu. With Zhu trying his best to stop you, you must retrieve the Crown and save your world from destruction. Wu used to be the emperor’s herald however he started behaving in a chaotic manner once the crown corrupted his heart. He was ultimately captured and condemned to a harsh punishment: being frozen in bio-static solution.
After dozens of years, Wu manages to free himself from his captivity and he discovers that everything around him has changed. The world is in ruins and his crown is long gone and is not being used to trigger vibrations huge enough to destroy everything in his path. Meridiem Games is currently working with developer Red Mountain to design, manufacture, and distribute the Legend Edition across Europe.

Key features of the game include:
- The Game World – Immerse yourself in a great land that is both ancient and new. Inspired by Chinese mythology and created to tell a new story of Sun’s journey from anti-hero to hero, this is a world where legend meets reality.
- Attributes and Abilities – Harness the powers of air, fire, earth, and lightning. Each of your powers gives you a way to work with the environment or against your enemies. Attack with Air, Fire, and Lightning. Defend Earth. Summon your powers to defeat enemies and cross dangerous chasms.
- Combat System – Discover a fresh and simple combat system that grants you incremental powers as you travel through this terrible land to solve the mystery of the stolen Crown. Get ready to jump, run and parkour your way through this new world as you solve intricate puzzles and overcome increasingly complex trials as you progress through the levels.
The Crown of Wu – Legend Edition will include a set of stunning art postcards and an introduction letter from the protagonist Wu, all packaged in a specially designed case with exclusive game artwork. Apart from publishing the Legend Edition, Meridiem Games is also handling the digital release of The Crown of Wu on PC and consoles this year. A confirmed release date has not been announced at this point however the Steam page and the PlayStation Store page for the game are now live where you can add it to your wishlist.
