The First Descendant Season 1: Invasion Second Update Arrives October 10

NEXON’s popular free-to-play looter-shooter, The First Descendant, is back with its second update for Season 1: Invasion. The update, set to go live on October 10, introduces a slew of new features, including the highly anticipated new Descendant, Ultimate Freyna, a fierce Void Intercept Boss Battle, and Halloween-themed content. The update will be available across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and NVIDIA GeForce NOW.

The main highlight of the upcoming update is the brand-new Ultimate Descendant. Ultimate Freyna comes with exclusive modules such as Toxic Mixture and Venom Injection, enhancing her ability to wreak havoc on enemies. Toxic Mixture triggers Necrosis, boosting Freyna’s Firearm ATK as enemies accumulate Necrosis stacks. As they reach max stacks, her firearm’s critical hit rate also increases. Meanwhile, Venom Injection replenishes the player’s shield and enhances Skill Power, while making enemies more vulnerable to her Toxic attacks by lowering their Toxin Resistance.

Freyna’s backstory delves into her emotional struggle as she grapples with guilt, having survived when her comrades and love did not. You will have the chance to explore her journey in her exclusive story mode, adding more depth to her character.

Hailey, another prominent Descendant, also receives new modifications. The Supercooled Kuiper Round and Cryogenic Cluster Shot modules grant her unique abilities that enhance damage output and offer powerful area-of-effect damage for clearing out enemies. The new Void Intercept Boss Battle introduces Death Stalker, one of the most formidable Colossi you have faced so far. To protect Albion, you must venture into the Void to uncover the secrets of this deadly foe.

Another major addition is the Frost Watcher, a powerful new weapon with Cryogenic bullets that slow enemy movements, creating an icy battleground. Only the most skilled Descendants will be able to wield this weapon effectively in battle. The update also introduces 400% Infiltration Operations, where you can battle through waves of enemies and earn exclusive rewards. These rewards include vouchers that can be exchanged with ETA-0, a mysterious merchant who appears in Albion on weekends, offering rare goods like weapon blueprints, materials, and more.

As Halloween approaches, Albion has been transformed with festive decorations and spooky new cosmetics. You can deck out their characters with Halloween-themed skins and items available in the shop, adding a seasonal flair to the gameplay. Lastly, you can participate in Freyna’s Encrypted Vault Shop event on the official website, completing in-game missions to unlock rewards.

In addition to this content-rich update, NEXON has detailed its plans to utilize the advanced technology of the PlayStation 5 Pro, enhancing graphics, lighting, and overall gameplay performance for The First Descendant.
