The Last of Us Part II Delayed Indefinitely, New Screenshots Revealed

Sony has announced that it is delaying the release of The Last of Us Part II indefinitely because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The news comes after more than half of the world is shut down because of the coronavirus spread and every industry is near to being shut down around the world as people stay in their homes to remain safe. Reportedly, Sony has not announced a new release date for the game which means that The Last of Us Part II could be delayed for a long time.

According to Sony’s official press release, the main cause of this big decision is because they want to ensure that fans get their game no matter where they are and with half of the world currently shut down, physical sales are near to none around to globe. People are shifting to digital sales and physical copies are unable to arrive even for people who pre-ordered their games. Sony also detailed the closure will have a serious impact on game publishing and logistics and it will seriously hamper a majority of players around the world.

Apart from The Last of Us Part II, Sony has also announced that the upcoming Iron Man VR is also delayed with no release date announced. You can check out the official Sony’s tweet below:

The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR are not the only games delayed because of coronavirus. Recently, Minecraft Dungeons and Wasteland 3 were also delayed because of the ongoing pandemic. However, this time around, Sony has not announced a new release date for the title which might push the title to the next-gen console’s release date. There is also a chance that Sony might release both PS4 and PS5 versions at the same time because not everyone jumps to the new generation right at the start.
