Obsidian Entertainment has announced that its upcoming open-world RPG The Outer Worlds is also going to release for the Nintendo Switch. The developing studio announced that it has partnered with Virtuous, a studio that has brought games like Dark Souls Remastered and L.A. Noire to the Nintendo Switch

Take a look at the announcement trailer below:

The trailer also features the senior producer at Obsidian Entertainment Matthew Singh, who confirmed the game to be releasing on Nintendo’s portable console,

It kind of blends two of my passions. I’ve been a lifetime Nintendo fan ever since I was three, I’ve had the NES all the way through every single console and every single handheld. I’m super excited to be able to take the type of experience we have and to be able to finally play it on a handheld platform. Today we can play a full experience, on-the-go, anywhere you want. Hopefully we can find an audience for people who may have never had this type of experience before.

A launch date has not been confirmed, but Obsidian does say that it follows after the release of the game on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This means that the game would be coming at a later date, possibly a few months. The console and PC version of the game is set to release on October 25 this year, so we expect the Nintendo Switch version of the game to come out early next year in 2020.

Obsidian is highly known for titles like Fallout: New Vegas, Knights of the Old Republic II, and South Park: The Stick of Truth. The Outer Worlds will be player-driven RPG, which is traditional to Obsidian, where how you approach The Outer Worlds is up to you. Your choices affect not only the way the story develops; but your character build, companion stories, and end game scenarios.
