The Sinking City Taken Down for Sale from Steam Following Frogwares Piracy Claim

The Sinking City Xbox Series

The Sinking City has been taken down for sale from Steam after developer Frogwares claimed that publisher NACON pirated the version and altered it. The Sinking City is the cause of strife between Frogwares and NACON for quite some time now and Frogwares has recently released the game on PS5 as well however it comes as a separate game since NACON published the PS4 version so players cannot upgrade their game to the next-gen version as of now.

This is not just a mere accusation as Frogwares provided all of the evidence as well in a detailed blog post as well as a video on its official YouTube channel. The game was released back in June 2019 however the problems between the two companies were made public back in August 2020 where Frogwares detailed in a statement that NACON tried to steal their IPs and did not pay their due amount as well. Fast forward to today and now the problem is still pending in the French court whether Frogwares is obliged to give NACON a remastered Steam version of the game.

Despite the problem still pending in court, NACON published and released a Steam version of The Sinking City which turned out to be a version purchased from the website Gamesplanet. Upon investigation, Frogwares found the areas where NACON has made some changes to the game and published the title on Steam like it is the official Steam version. Following this revelation, the game has been pulled from Steam once again however it remains on PS5 where the developer recently released a Remastered version of the game.

If you want to check out the detailed blog post, you can head over to the official website and check out the details. We also reviewed the PS4 version of The Sinking City when it came out back in 2019 so make sure that you check it out as well. The Sinking City was also released on PS5 recently as a remastered edition.
