Valve has just announced the final nominees for its upcoming The Steam Awards 2018. Along with the nominees, Valve has also announced the dates for their upcoming annual Steam Winter Sale and the dates when players will be able to vote for their favorite games.
These final nominees were chosen on player votes where users voted on their favorite titles in eight different categories in November. Some of the titles on the final list are not from 2018 but due to their popularity, they have made their way into this year’s list as well.
The final voting for The Steam Awards is starting on December 20, 2018 which happens to be the first day of annual Steam Winter Sale as well. Looks like Steam set the dates same because nearly everyone will be online during these days looking at deals and buying their favorite games.
The announcement of the final nominees was made on Steam official community page. Since the list is for games that came out of Steam, seeing so many AAA games from 2018 that were console exclusives missing from this list makes it look weird. But it all makes sense since the awards are for Steam games only.

The players can sign in to Steam and vote for their favorite games from December 20, 2018 to January 3, 2019. After this, the voting will end. The final winners will be announced later in February 2019.
