The Survivalists Sailing Guide

In this The Survivalists Sailing Guide, we will show you how you can first craft a Raft with a Sail, and how you can ride it to go to other locations on the map.

Below we have detailed how you craft your own raft, sail for the raft, and how you can ride the sailboat itself.

How to Craft a Raft and Sail

The first thing you need to do is go to the Mysterious Stranger and complete the first task given to you. This will give you the Spyglass which is an important item used when sailing, which reveals the map around your current location. In addition, you also need to by the Mysterious Chest from the Mysterious Stranger, which contains the blueprint for the Raft.

Once you have the Blueprints, you will notice that you need to first craft a Raft, which requires 3 Rope and 6 pieces of Wooden Rod. Now that you have a Raft, you need a Sail which will allow your raft to move around giving you some control of where to go. The crafting recipe for the Sail is 3 Palm Leaves, 3 Ropes, and 3 Fur Clump. With the ingredients in hand, go to a Crafting Bench to make a Sail for your raft.

How to Sail

Sailing is pretty simple in the game, which requires just two buttons to move around. Your raft’s sail can be rotated with the buttons which pull the raft in the direction where the sail is pointing at.

This is your basic way of moving around on a raft with a sail. You can now go visit other lands, check out what loot you can pick up from there, and also carry some items back on the raft.
