A new Titanfall free-to-play battle royale game is currently in development and according to rumors and leaks, the game is coming out tomorrow. However, this Titanfall game does not have of the Titan mech suits in it and it has gotten us worried.
The reports of this free-to-play Titanfall Battle Royale game come from an eSports journalist Rod Breslau. According to Rod, the game is called Apex Legends and while it is a Titanfall game, it will be free-to-play, battle royale based and will not have Titan mech suits in it.
Instead of using giant mech suits to fight, players will use different supernatural abilities just like they use in different MOBA games like Dota 2. These abilities will define each player’s strengths and weaknesses in the fights.
Each match in the game will be either in teams or will follow the solo criteria of most battle royale games out these days. Looks like EA finally wants in on the action but not adding Titan mech suits in a Titanfall just feels very wrong.
Apart from this, each server will support around 60 players and each team will be limited to three players only. The game will use Valve’s source engine which was the case with Titanfall and Titanfall 2 as well.
Titanfall was built on the concept of fighting with giant mechs and now we are about to get a Titanfall game which does not have these mechs and instead we will have super abilities like characters in Dota 2 have.
According to Rod Breslau, Apex Legends will come out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The title is a free-to-play title so we can expect tons of micro-transactions in the game specially since EA is the one behind the wheel.
We are expecting a reveal or launch tomorrow on Monday so we can finally see the game or actually play it to try it out and see how does Titanfall feel without the Titan mech suits. To be honest, we are not really looking forward to it.
