The latest game to go free on the Epic Games Store is Supergiant Game’s Transistor and the next title to go free is going to be World of Goo. In celebration of its release on the Epic Games Store, World of Goo will also get a free visual upgrade so that it runs better on modern PCs.
Transistor was originally released back in 2014 and it much received with critical acclaim around the world. The game features turn-based combat as well as real-time combat which makes it a very unique title inspired heavily by cyberpunk. The developer behind this unique title is Supergiant Games who recently released Hades in Early Access on Epic Games Store.
Transistor is free on Epic Games Store until May 2, 2019, and after that, the next title to go free-to-play on Epic Games Store is going to be World of Goo by 2D Boy. World of Goo will also get a visual overhaul when it arrives on the Epic Games Store. The developers have worked on the title in the previous years to further improve the game such as for the Nintendo Switch release.
All the fixes and improvements will be carried over for the Epic Games Store release along with the visual overhaul. The basic reason behind the visual overhaul is that the original version of the game ran in 800×600 resolution which is very low when compared with modern PCs. Some of the modern PCs cannot even run it without glitching out.
The newer and improved version of World of Goo will give the players the freedom to run at any resolution that they prefer. The game will also come with an option to switch to the old art style if the players want to experience the title in its original graphics which date back to 2009. The improved version will be the best World of Goo experience so far.
