Indie developer Spilt Milk Studios has announced the Early Access release date of Trash Goblin. Trash Goblin is a cozy shopkeeping game with a quirky twist, and it is set to launch in Early Access on Steam on November 6th, 2024. Before its launch, you will be able to jump into the game a little early with a Steam Next Fest demo launching later this month. This small demo will give you a chance to try out a small slice of the game before its release later this year.
In Trash Goblin, you take on the role of a resourceful goblin who uncovers, restores and upcycles trinkets to sell in their shop. With a tactile and engaging gameplay style, you will chip away at grime-covered objects, scrub them clean, and prepare them for sale. The game brings a creative twist to the shop simulator genre by allowing you to combine trinkets into strange and unique items, catering to the whimsical tastes of a colorful cast of customers.

Customization is a key aspect of Trash Goblin, as you are encouraged to get to know their customers’ preferences and create custom pieces tailored to their tastes. This not only satisfies the customers but also helps fetch higher prices for the unique creations. From combining trinkets into new upcycled items to polishing each object with care, every action contributes to the growth of the goblin’s thriving business.
As the shop becomes more successful, you can reinvest its earnings to upgrade tools, expand the shop, and unlock new areas across town. These upgrades will allow for even more intricate and valuable restorations, adding depth and variety to the gameplay.
Creative Director Andrew Smith expressed excitement about Trash Goblin’s journey so far: “Taking Trash Goblin on the road at various events and letting folks try out the demo has been extremely gratifying. We’re thrilled to see what quirky combinations you come up with when upcycling their trinkets during Early Access.” Smith also highlighted that the game’s development will continue through the Early Access phase, with plans to introduce more characters, quests, and items based on player feedback.
At launch, Trash Goblin will feature over 50 trinkets, 180 upcycling combinations, 3 trinket-care minigames, and a variety of NPCs to interact with. The game promises endless gameplay with new quests and customer interactions.
Trash Goblin is slated for an Early Access release on November 6, 2024, after which the developer will continue working on the title and release additional content for it over the next couple of months. You can head over to Steam right now and add it to your wishlist or try the free demo.
