Treyarch while speaking with Game informer reveled that 80 player count will feature in battle royale mode of Call of Duty Black Ops 4. The game releases on October 12, 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game is in under development of Treyarch and Beenox studios.
Dan Bunting, Co-studio head at Treyarch further said:
So we’re starting with 80 players, but we’ve gone higher than that. Whenever we launch a game as a beta or whatever, that’s the beginning of something. We’re going to actively be participating in the community and taking feedback, making changes and adapting, evolving the game as feedback rolls in. So there’s a lot that can go on that can happen beyond that first impact of the game going out there
The beta testing version of Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will launch next week. The beta version will run with 80 player count in battle royale mode. However, the number is not final as of yet and may go up or down based on the stable connectivity and community feedback.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite features 100 player count in battle royale mode. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is starting to get into battle royale genre and it will be interesting the see the amount of competition the game will face.
Battle royale multiplayer genre fans have always preferred connection stability and regulated check on hackers as first priority, player count comes next. The beta testing version of Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will reveal how much amount of work developers need to put in online segment.
