Ubisoft is running a special promotion of For Honor on Steam. The starter edition is available for free, while standard, deluxe, and gold editions are available at a 75% discount price.
The Starter edition of For Honor unlocks six heroes for you. Other game heroes can be unlocked at 8000 steel (in-game money) or can be purchased from the store. Additionally, the Starter edition also unlocks all PVP and PVE modes and all maps.
For Honor Starter edition is up for free grab till 27th August. In case you missed the game at launch, now is the chance to get it for free. The Starter edition is fully compatible with the Season Pass and other DLCs.
For Honor has been heavily criticized since its start for its unstable online connectivity. The PVP game mode had frequent disconnectivity issues. PVE game mode had better connection stability. For Honor is a better game now. Developers at Ubisoft have listened to the issues and have addressed them. For Honor has now dedicated servers, more than 5000 regular player base, and a big player roster.
For Honor was released last year on February 14 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Since then the game has been praised as well as criticized.
In other news, Hunt Showdown is coming to Xbox One in Xbox game preview. The game is currently in the early access phase on Steam. A recent trailer showcased at Gamescom suggests that Hunt Showdown will make its way to the Xbox One console.
Hunt Showdown is a horror theme, first-person survival shooter genre with PVP and PVE elements combined. The maps in the game are full of chaotic beasts, disfigured and gross enemy AI, all of them are your targets. Players take control of bounty hunters. Each hunter comes with a different set of skills and equipment. Your role is to track down the clues and take out the boss on the map, loot the carcass, and sell it for profit, just like hunters are supposed to do.
The game mixes PVP and PVE elements. In a single mission, there will be enemy AI along with five teams of two hunters who will try to kill you. All the bounty hunters on the map are tasked to kill the boss and run away safely to claim the rewards. You instantly become a bounty for other hunters, once you kill the boss. Flee with a lot and the game will reward you, at the same time if you fail to do so and die, your character and gear will be lost.
