According to reports, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus phones will be cheaper than their predecessors with the S21 Ultra being a bit more costly than its last-generation counterpart. The Galaxy S21 phones are rumored to be announced on 14th January according to a recent leak and now this price change leak further indicates that the phones are going to be announced soon.
The price information comes from reports from a Belgian carrier which tells that the S21 and S21+ are going to be cheaper than the predecessors. However, the S21 Ultra is going to cost just a little more. The latest report also mentioned the price of Phones in euros. The Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus will Cost 849 and 1,049 Euros respectively with the S21 Ultra costing 1,399 Euros.
These are the prices for the base models having 128 GB of internal storage and the prices will be higher for larger storage phones. The Galaxy S21 receives a big price cut as compared to its predecessor the S20, which cost 999 euros on launch last year. The Galaxy S21+ will also be 50 euro cheaper than the S20+ on the launch, 1,049 euros compared to 1,099 euros of S20+.
The Galaxy S21 and S21+ are cheaper because they are said to have flat screens and plastic backs. As for why the S21 Ultra is expensive is because it is going to use the same digitizer tech that is used in the Galaxy Note series because it is going to have support for S-Pen.
The new Galaxy Buds Pro is also expected to be announced in the event which will rival Apple’s AirPods Pro. Samsung is unveiling the phones and the buds to compete with Apple’s latest iPhone 12 series.
According to reports, Samsung will unveil its latest flagship CPU the Exynos 2100 which is expected to power the Galaxy S21 series. We will have to wait and see what Samsung has planned for us in this event.
