VAIO used to be a pretty great brand and some people loved these laptops. Sadly these laptops went off the market but the brand is now back with the VAIO S15 high-performance notebook that is powered by a 6-core processor.
The VAIO S15 is available for pre-order and you can get one from the official website and the laptop is going to release on the 19th of April. The design is pretty great and the materials that are used include aluminum and anodized metal. The size of the laptop is similar to an A4 piece of paper and the weight is around 2.25 kg. The VAIO S15 is available in Black and Silver.
Talking about the specifications of the VAIO S15, you get the Core i7-8750H processor which has similar performance compared to the desktop 8700 CPU. Other than that, you get 32GB DDR4 memory and 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD. There are lower configurations as well which will save you some money. The 15.6-inch screen is available in 4K and 1080p. It is hard to appreciate 4K when the screen is so small so you should go with the 1080p model which will save you some money as well.
The keyboard is fully backlit and you also get integrated IEEE 802.11ac/a/b/g/n dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1. You have a fingerprint reader and the laptop supports Windows Hello as well, which will allow you to log in with facial recognition. You get plenty of ports, including GigaLAN, SD card reader, HDMI 2.0, 2 USB 3.0, USB 3.1 TYPE-A, USB 3.1 TYPE-C and VGA.
Interestingly the VAIO S15 comes with a Blu-ray burner which is not something that you usually get on modern laptops. That could also be one of the reasons why the laptop is thicker and heavier than some competitors that fall into the same price bracket.
In other news, you can now change your PSN name. Sony is also letting you return games that you have not downloaded. Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid slammed Sony on its stance regarding cross-play in a recent discussion.
Let us know what you think about the VAIO S15 and whether or not this is something that you would be interested in getting.
