Valheim Crosses 4 Million Copies Sold Within a Month After Release

Valheim

Valheim has just crossed another milestone with 4 million copies sold worldwide in just over three weeks after launch on February 2, 2021. The game has been climbing the Steam charts since its launch and beat the Among Us concurrent players record.

Valheim has been an instant success ever since its release in Early Access by developer Iron Gate. The game managed to sell one million copies in the first week alone while crossing two million in the second week. It seems that the game is selling a million copies every week and is still growing in the number of sales.

Speaking to PCGamer, CEO of Iron Gate Richard Svensson had this to say,

I don’t think I have really had time to contemplate it. I know that players like the game a lot, but at the same time I think that I can make something even better in the future. I’m looking forward to adding more content to the game, especially working on the remaining biomes.

On the other hand, Coffee Stain Publishing CEO Albert Säfström added,

I was describing Valheim to a friend over a year ago as a game that made me feel how I felt when I fell in love in games for the first time. Up until three weeks ago I thought this was a unique connection I alone had with Valheim. Seeing the incredible reception from players in these past weeks has made me realise that Valheim is something truly special, not only for me, but for more players than I could have imagined.

Earlier this month, Iron Gate revealed the roadmap of updates planned for the game, which hinted a new Valheim Biome called the Mistlands. Other possible content includes multiplayer interactions, vendor inventory expansions, combat improvements, and much more.
