Little Bat Games, the indie studio behind the critically acclaimed Vampire Therapist, has announced the release of the first in a series of free content updates for the popular game. Known for its unique approach to psychotherapy through the lens of vampire lore, Vampire Therapist offers emotional depth and engaging mechanics. Now, you can dive even deeper into this world with the new updates available to all current owners of the game.

The first update, titled The Blood of Troy, is now live and it takes you on a journey through the founding of Rome, all from the perspective of a 3,000-year-old vampire mentor who has lived through the ages. As the protagonist, you continue to explore the complexities of administering therapy to their ancient mentor, navigating the vampire’s troubled and lengthy history. This new content builds on the game’s core mechanics, offering you a fresh narrative experience that blends historical fiction with the intense emotional layers of a vampire’s past.

Little Bat Games, helmed by Creative Director Cyrus Nemati, has earned a reputation for creating titles with rich storytelling, innovative gameplay, and complex characters. Funded in partnership with Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the studio emphasizes sustainability in its development practices while pushing the boundaries of indie game design. With Vampire Therapist, they have created a game that has resonated deeply with players, earning a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.

The studio plans to release two additional free updates throughout 2024. The next update, Spanish Nights, will explore the history of pre-Renaissance Spain, while Fathoms Below will delve into the origins of psychoanalysis. Both updates promise to expand on the game’s unique blend of historical storytelling and therapeutic exploration.
