Publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer Gametopia have announced the release of Verne: The Shape of Fantasy on Nintendo Switch, bringing the captivating narrative adventure to a new audience. You can now immerse yourself in the imaginative world of Hemera, where you will step into the shoes of the legendary author Jules Verne. With its release on Nintendo Switch, Verne: The Shape of Fantasy, a game known for its stunning pixel art, dynamic nonlinear dialogues, and intricate puzzle mechanics, offers an epic journey filled with wonder and danger, all on the go.
Set in the year 1888, Verne: The Shape of Fantasy plunges you into a world on the brink of destruction, ravaged by a war against the fearsome “Nation.” As Jules Verne, you are accompanied by the iconic Captain Nemo and his crew on a quest to uncover the Flame of Hephaestus, a mythical artifact rumored to have the power to change the course of history. Along this perilous journey, you will encounter extraordinary wonders, unravel deep mysteries, and confront unimaginable dangers.

The game’s richly detailed environments, inspired by classic adventure games, challenge you to solve puzzles and explore every corner of the atmospheric steampunk world. Central to the gameplay is the IMAG device, a unique tool that allows you to rewrite history and alter Verne’s destiny. This device, coupled with the game’s intricate storytelling, invites you to engage deeply with the world, uncovering hidden secrets and untold stories that add layers of depth to the narrative.
Verne: The Shape of Fantasy is now available on Nintendo Switch with a special 20% launch discount. It was previously released on PC via SteamVerne as well and now you can pick between the two platforms to either play it on the go or experience it at home. It may arrive on additional platforms in the future but so far, there is no such announcement by the publisher.
