In VICE NDRCVR, you will step into the shoes of a deep-cover cop, stationed in the alternative 1980s Miami. The city is ravaged by brutal and oppressive crime cartels, that rule the city. Utilize the early inception of the internet that the crime lords have exploited for their own benefits, and infiltrate the cartel’s computer system, deep into the organization’s building. Here is where you will be making life-or-death decisions that can impact the course of the narrative.
Cos Lazouras, co-founder of Ancient Machine Studios talked about their game,
VICE NDRCVR represents everything we love about 1980’s pop culture, from the neon aesthetic, synth soundtracks, and homages to classic crime cinema and TV. We’re doing it with a twist and a healthy dose of paranoia; it’s an alternative Miami in the ‘80s, where technology existed much earlier than reality. How would a narco-war under these conditions unfold?”
The game’s immaculately crafted Amigo OS will invoke memories of the classic operating system of the era, where you will have to maintain your cover, and search through the secret communications between the cartels, uncover the secret documents that help them conduct their businesses. Every piece of information that you gain will bring more details about the cartel, all to put an end to its reign of terror from within.
However, this is going to be easier said than done, as impersonating a computer operator is a job full of risks. The building of the cartel is filled with hitmen and dirty cops that will never think twice to take you down, especially if they know you are an undercover agent.
