Indie publisher Hooded Horse has announced its brand-new Viking game Sons of Valhalla during their PAX East 2022 publisher showcase. Sons of Valhalla is a 2D side-scroller that features a story of war and love that takes a son of a Viking Jarl, Thorald Olavson to England. His goal is to raise an army and track those down who have wronged him.
Sons of Valhalla combines 2D side-scrolling with action RPG with real-time strategy base building where you build forts to protect your resources, lead your armies and use siege equipment to go on the offensive. The trailer reveals the son of Jarl known as Thorald Olavson who falls in love with a woman, but his settlement gets raided by another Viking Jarl called Valgard and his love of life is kidnapped with most of the village brutally murdered.

In Sons of Valhalla, you will play as both a builder and a destroyer as you set across to England. Along the way, you develop and fortify settlements as you raid and plunder villages and lay down siege to enemy strongholds. You will command longboats filled with warriors and great siege weapons that you will use to abolish your enemies. Apart from that, you will also have your trusty sword in your hand to personally mow down anyone who comes in your way.
A Steam page for the game is now live and you can add the game to your Wishlist. Sons of Valhalla is also the winner of Indie of the Year 2020 at IndieDB. As of now, Sons of Valhalla is only announced for a PC release however if the publisher announced additional platforms later, we would surely update you here.
