MotionX Studio has revealed its brand new fast-paced VR karting title Dash Dash World releasing next week. MotionX Studio is known for its VR/AR games and simulators so tackling VR is nothing new for the developer. Their latest project infuses VR with one of the fastest and most action-packed racing genre, karting.
Dash Dash World will feature multiplayer kart racing in virtual reality with a big focus on combat. Players will be racing on unique tracks filled with obstacles and other hidden shortcuts. Apart from road obstacles, players will also have plenty of two-handed melee weapons and ranged weapons at their disposal to whack other players and try to reach the finish line first.
MotionX describes the gameplay of Dash Dash World as Super Immersive control. You will be able to grab the wheel in one hand and use the other hand to grab weapons or if you are really crazy, dual-wield weapons using both hands at the same time. The Steering Wheel Support adds increased immersion as it offers force feedback which makes you feel every bump, turn, and obstacle that comes in your way.

If you get tired in the game from smashing all the opponents, you can enter the simpler Rest Mode which offers a more casual gameplay style and better control in tight spaces. You will have a wide variety of weapons at your disposal. Ranging from machine guns to frying pans, you will use a variety of melee and ranged weapons in the game to ensure that none of your opponents stay ahead of you for a long time.
Apart from the offense, you will also need to ensure that your defense is strong with counterplay. Different weapons and items will ensure that you remain in the lead by blinding the opponents behind you with Face Blaster or using minions such as Angry Crimson. A good balance between offense and defense will ensure that you take the lead quickly and ensure that you stay in the lead. The game also features a wide variety of game modes for players of all skill levels.
You can race in casual matches, pro challenges, boss fights, and online tournaments. You can also turn on the Pro Racing mode to make the game really challenging. Apart from using the weapons to your advantage, you will also have nitro at your disposal with the help of which you can charge up boost chains and reach maximum speeds during the final moments of any race. Drafting also comes into play during these races where you can use the air window behind your opponents ahead of you to get closer to them quickly.
Aim for massive jumps and on the way down, you can use glide to ensure that you land exactly you wanted to. If you prefer a more casual, singleplayer experience, you can take part in the singleplayer Story mode which features over 100 challenges from tons of characters. If you prefer online competition, you will have over 200 Achievements, Quests along with friendly and competitive tournaments waiting for you. You can also compete for the Hall of Fame.
There is a major focus on social interaction in Dash Dash Racing as you can see with the integration of a Race Team or Personal Ladder. You can also express yourself during races with personalized emotes and honking your unique car horn. If you manage to secure a win, you can taunt your enemies at the end of the race with victory poses. You can also show off your records and skills with your customizable profile card. You can also customize your cart according to your own liking.
Since motion sickness is a pretty common problem when it comes to VR gaming, Dash Dash World has special mechanics that are in place to help players with their motion sickness. The game has 6 Comfort Mode options along with special Orientation classes that will help them overcome their sickness with promising results. Using these techniques, players will be able to enjoy the game for a much longer time than they would have able to without these added features.
Dash Dash World has been in development at MotionX Studio for the past 2 years and more than 60 developers have been working on the title during its development phase. MotionX states that it has pioneered VR specific features such as two-handed immersive driving, dynamic minimap, motion sickness prevention options, and much more. The game will receive unified gameplay parity across all VR platforms along with a smooth online multiplayer.
Dash Dash World is slated for a release on October 8, 2020, on Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest. The game will also release on SteamVR in November 2020, while the PlayStation VR version will release later down the road in Q1 2021.
