Wasteland 3 Delayed by 3 Months Because of Ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic

Wasteland 3 Delayed

Developer inXile Entertainment and publisher Deep Silver have announced that their upcoming title Wasteland 3 has been delayed. Wasteland 3 which was originally slated for release on May 19, 2020, will now release on August 28, 2020. The announcement comes in the wake of the ongoing pandemic of coronavirus.

According to the official press release, the developer has said that because of the lockdown and the ongoing pandemic, working from home has created different logistical challenges for the studio and hence the game has been pushed further down the road to give them plenty of time to cope with the changing work dynamics and ensuring that a good title is delivered at the end of the day.

Brian Fargo, studio head at InXile Entertainment comments:

As with most companies, we moved to a work-from-home environment some weeks ago, and that’s of course introduced new challenges that many of us throughout the world have been learning to manage. We’ve been excited to see the Wasteland 3 beta so well received, but the reality is that with these new logistical challenges our release was going to be impacted.

We’re pouring our hearts into this game, and the last thing we want is to have anything but an amazing launch for a product we truly believe in. We appreciate everyone’s excitement and continued support as we put a few more months into ensuring that on launch day Wasteland 3 is the experience you’ve been waiting for.

Wasteland 3 is coming after nearly 6 years after Wasteland 2 was released back in 2014. The franchise is known for having large gaps between titles as the first title was originally released in 1988. Wasteland 3 is set in the perpetual nuclear winter of Colorado where players take control of the last surviving member of Team November. It is essentially a post-apocalyptic RPG that features turn-based combat.
