Walkabout games and Different Tales have just released a new Werewolf: The Apocalypse dev diary video that explores the ancient European Bialowieza Forest that became the setting for the savage horror of Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest.
The new diary reveals how the game connects reality with fantasy. Take a look at the dev diary video below:
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest is the upcoming savage horror game that adapts the mechanics of the legendary RPG system. In this story-focused experience, you play Maia, a young girl who comes to Poland looking for her roots and gets drafted into an ancient war.\
In the new Dev Diary, Artur Ganszyniec talks about the game’s setting: the primeval Bialowieza Forest, a real ancient wilderness located in Poland. Learn more about its history and legends, and also controversies that make it the perfect setting for a story within the World of Darkness universe.
Earlier this month, the developers detailed a very important in-game mechanic called Rage. Rage is one of the key mechanics of the game and everything that happens around you makes you angry. Players will be required to balance their Rage. Since the gameplay is all text-based, the intensity of your Rage will affect the description of everything that is going on around you. Certain options will only be available to you if you have a specific number of Rage stored.
We recently previewed an Early Access beta of Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest and we really liked the game. The concept of the game is brilliant and how the story and your character Maia develop based on your in-game choices. You can subscribe to the official newsletter and you will get one wallpaper free every week. Make sure to check out the previously released developer diary as well. The game is slated for a release on PC in Q4 2020.
