Indie development studios and publishers Studio Spektar and Porcupine Parkour have announced the launch of their title Cave Hikers. Cave Hikers is a charming puzzle adventure, co-developed by both studios and it is now available on Steam for PC. This delightful 2D interactive cartoon mockumentary invites you on a cozy and humorous journey into a fantastical underground world.

Cave Hikers centers on three quirky protagonists—Aki, the warrior; Valeriano, the alchemist; and Vuvo, the mechanic—each embarking on a quest to uncover the legendary “cave with an infinite ceiling.” Along the way, you are treated to a unique blend of storytelling and gameplay, combining the immersive feel of a nature documentary with engaging puzzles and whimsical encounters.

The game’s lush underground setting is brimming with hidden objects to discover, magical potions to concoct, and a host of eccentric creatures that greet you with charming animations. Cave Hikers features a mockumentary-style narration, which frames the characters as if they were the subjects of a nature documentary. Accompanying the game is the Book of Caves, a wordless guide filled with artistic sketches of the cavern’s flora and fauna, as well as potion recipes for you to experiment with. Available both in-game and as a printable PDF, this book adds an extra layer of immersion to the experience.

Meanwhile, Porcupine Parkour, led by Zvonimir Barać, shares a similar pedigree and was instrumental in developing Cave Hikers. Both studios have received significant grants for their contributions to the creative gaming space.
