Com2uS recently streamed the fifth annual Summoners War World Arena Championship World Finals mobile eSports competition. The event was streamed on November 12, 2021, and during the event the best Summoners War: Sky Arena players from around the world participated in competitive monster duels and PvP matches to claim their share of the $250,000 prize pool. The event attracted over 100 million players from all over the world.
One of the largest prize pools in mobile eSports made sure that it attracted a large number of players and viewers and it was evident from the fact that the event had over 1.62 million views and 255,000 concurrent viewers across YouTube and Twitch. Within 24 hours of the broadcast, the video of the finals reached over 2.65 million views worldwide which surpassed the previous year’s record easily. Apart from the viewers, this year’s event attracted the largest number of applicants for the event as well.
For the finals, eight finalists competed including BIGV and MADREAMDY from the Summoners War World Arena Championship (SWC2021) Americas Cup, PINKROID~ and ISMOO from the Europe Cup and DILIGENT, SECONDBABY, JACK- AND TARS from the Asia-Pacific region. The first prize was won by none other than the seasoned-favorite player DILIGENT of Australia who won $100,000 grand prize. The second runner-up and European Cup Champion, PINKROID~ of the Netherlands, earned the $20,000 prize, and the third runner-up BIGV from Canada earned the $10,000 prize.
During the event, the first-ever competitive matches in Summoners War’s recently released 2v2 PvP mode were also featured. The intense 2v2 PvP featured Summoners War fan-favorite Thompsin, 2020 World Champion Mr.Chung, and other attendees battle in several exhibition matches. The developer also took the event as an opportunity to release a new cinematic trailer for Summoners War: Chronicles. Check it out below:
Summoners War: Chronicles is the open-world inspired MMORPG-style experience from Com2uS which features iconic monsters, spells, and environments from the Summoners War universe. The new trailer showcases a small teaser of the title’s story and shows the main Summoner characters including Orbia, Kina, and Cleaf along with their unique powers in action with thrilling battle scenes. The game will also feature a P2E or Play to Earn format utilizing blockchain technology allowing players to earn coveted in-game items through gameplay advancements.
