Publisher Ysbryd Games and developer Ackk Studios have announced the launch of a free major update for YIIK across PC and consoles including PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. The new update is called I.V and it is a reimagined and enhanced version of YIIK: A Postmodern RPG. This definitive edition upgrade brings with it an array of upgrades including new content and gameplay enhancements as a free upgrade for all of you. The story of YIIK I.V follows Alex, a recent college graduate whose life takes a surreal turn after witnessing a vision of a woman being consumed by an iron maiden. Driven by an obsession to uncover the truth, Alex embarks on a journey that challenges the fabric of reality itself. The I.V edition expands this journey into uncharted dimensions, adding three new party members, a completely revamped combat system, and a host of fresh features designed to deliver the ultimate YIIK experience.
You can explore ten new areas filled with inscrutable puzzles, strange enemies, and deadly traps. The game introduces Karta, mysterious collectible allies that act as the first line of defense in battle. You must strategically equip and synergize Karta’s unique passive and active abilities to overcome challenges in a reimagined turn-based combat system. Updates also include revamped dungeon layouts, improved cutscenes, and a restructured leveling system within Alex’s Mind Dungeon.

Accompanying these enhancements is a soundtrack featuring over 150 new tracks, adding depth to the game’s vibrant, surreal atmosphere. With support for both English and Japanese languages, YIIK I.V aims to welcome an even broader audience to its unique blend of post-modern storytelling and unconventional gameplay.
YIIK I.V is now available on PC via Steam and GOG along with PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. If you already own YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG, this will be a free upgrade for you but if you are a new player, you can rush to its official Steam page right now and grab the game with a massive 50% discount.
