Destiny 2 News: Shadowkeep, Google Stadia, Cross-Save, Free-To-Play

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep

Destiny 2 is getting a new expansion in September called Shadowkeep. It takes you back to the Moon. A location that players had access to the in the previous game but this time the location is different and there are nightmares that you must face. Bungie hinted that the enemies that Guardians have taken down in the past might come back and that killing them will not be easy this time.

Everything New Coming To Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep is the first expansion that Bungie is making without Activision and I think that they know that players want to see the effects of the separation in the upcoming expansion. Now that there is no one to interfere with the game Bungie cannot hide behind a publisher or blame it for mistakes.

Here is what you need to know about Destiny 2 Shadowkeep expansion and everything else that you can expect to see later this year.

Back To The Moon

The moon has changed and there is a huge tower there. Bungie claims that the expansion will have a horror theme and that the developer is tapping into what Guardians are afraid of. Devs mentioned that nightmares are the manifestations of guardians past and you cannot just simply kill them. There will be some kind of a twist here and shotting them is not going to be enough.

Bungie mentioned that the darkness is closer than you think and that the villains that Guardians have already killed are now being brought back to life by the darkness.

RPG Elements

More RPG elements are being added to the game. This is aimed to give players what they want. We saw some cool finishing moves in the documentary that Bungie posted and you can see that the Titan class has a finisher that is similar to the Superman Punch.

The way that armor perks and mods work is being changed in the upcoming expansion. Players will no longer have to choose between how great the armor looks and how well it plays. With the upcoming expansion, players will be able to add a wide variety of mods to their armor.

New Exotic Weapons

We have seen some new exotics weapons in the documentary as well. We saw a bow that had a knockback effect when it is fired. We also saw a trace rifle and a hand cannon that had a scope on it. If this gun is included in the expansion then this will be the only hand cannon in Destiny 2 that has a scope on it.

New Raid

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep expansion will come with a new raid. Bungie has confirmed that the raid will be set in Black Garden. There is not much that we know about this part of the world or the raid but we do know that Bungie is excited about this location. If the previous raids are any indication, then this one is going to be great as well.

Google Stadia And Cross-Save

Bungie hinted that it is allowing cross-save to be possible now that Activision is gone. Players will be able to access their game across different platforms and it has been confirmed that the game is coming to Google Stadia as well later this year. With Destiny 2 Shadowkeep expansion on Google Stadia, you could play it on a TV, smartphone or any other device that can play YouTube. This is something that we are looking forward to.

This is a great way of getting into the game if you are have not done so already as you will have access to some of the activities that your friends are already doing.

Players will have access to all the open-worlds, strikes, bounties, gambit mode and even the year 1 Leviathan raid. From there you can access the other expansions and choose what you want to play next. If you are playing the game then be sure to check out our Destiny 2 Guides:
