Supply Drops
Supply Drops are one of the main sources of Ethanol in Far Cry New Dawn. Whenever a supply drop is present on the map, it will be marked with a red marker and you will be able to see yellow smoke rising from them.
They are guarded by a small number of enemies so they are very easy to collect. Make sure you come prepared to take out the enemies guarding them. Each supply drop will give you around 35 to 40 ethanol. They will appear in random locations on the map so keep your eyes peeled for them.
Tanker Trucks
You can also steal Tanker Trucks to obtain Ethanol from them. For this, you must first liberate an Outpost. After liberating the Outpost, head to the road close to the Outpost and wait for a little time to spawn an Ethanol Tanker. When it passes by, kill the driver and steal the truck. Deliver it to the Outpost and you will get around 75 ethanol from each truck. Do not shoot the truck or they will explode.
Outposts
Liberating outposts in Far Cry New Dawn will get you massive amounts of Ethanol depending on the rank of the outposts. The whole map has 10 different outposts for you to find and take over. You can choose any approach to take them over however stealth approach will nab you a bonus.
After you have captured an outpost, scavenge it to reset it and then higher level enemies will come back and take it under their command. This way you can again attack the same outpost and take it back but this time you will earn bigger rewards and more Ethanol. The highest rank of each outpost could be Rank 3.
Taking over a Rank 3 outpost will give you 300 Ethanol and 150 extra if you manage to take over them in stealth. You can reset a Rank 3 outpost as many times as you want to farm Ethanol for your home base. Rank 1 outpost will give 100 Ethanol and Rank 2 outpost will give you 200 Ethanol.
Farm outposts as much as you like as they become very easy when you have access to better weapons and vehicles. Do not attempt harder outposts early in the game. Stick to easier ones and level up the weapons workbench to unlock better weapons. Only then aim for the Rank 2 or Rank 3 outposts.
