PlayStation Experience also know as PSX will not happen this year, this comes from the chairman of worldwide studios for Sony Interactive Entertainment, Shawn Layden.

Shawn Layden recently announced the news while discussing on games at PlayStation Blogcast. Since last couple of years, Sony stages PlayStation Experience event after Halloween. The PSX event is also a second E3 for PlayStation fans. Interestingly, Sony has revealed a lot of good content in last couple of PSX events. It is sad to know they are completely missing out this year.

PlayStation Plus For Month of October Revealed

This can turn out to be a good for Sony and fans. Last year PSX, people put up very high expectations and when Sony staged the PSX event, it was not received well from fans. Shawn Layden also says the same for this year. He says we have showcased good amount of content already in this year.

Also, he said with Marvel’s Spider-Man out, we are left with Days Gone and Dreams only. He further said:

But we wouldn’t have enough to bring people all together in some location in North America to have that event, We don’t want to set expectations really high and then not deliver on it.

PSX 2016 gave a lot of reveals and announcements. That year the event opened with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Also, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Death Stranding, God of War, Days Gone all the good stuff was revealed at PSX 2016.

Shawn Layden has a point, Sony has not much to offer for this year after almost every game revealed at PSX 2016 are released already.

Marvel Spider-Man within three days, the game sold a total of 3.3 million units, breaking the record of highest number of units sold post-launch. Marvel’s Spider-Man dethroned God of War sales: which also launched this year and made record of quick sales post-launch.
