When you collect Gourd Seeds, you can upgrade the healing Gourd completely to give you a lot of health in fighting an enemy. Fully upgrading the Gourd will unlock the “Ultimate Healing Gourd” trophy/achievement.

When you acquire a Gourd Seed, you can take it back to Emma at the Dilapidated Temple. It is here that she will upgrade the Healing Gourd for you. During the gameplay, Emma will disappear from the Dilapidated Temple when you first reach Ashina Castle. She can then be found in Kuro’s Room.

Gourd Seed #1

This seed can be found in the Ashina Outskirts, Outskirts Wall – Gate Path. From the Gate Path idol or fast travel, you will have to fight a small boss called General Naomori Kawarada.

After fighting him, he will drop the Gourd Seed once he is defeated. Do not forget to sneak up behind him to perform an execution, as this will take one of his life away from him. This is to make things easier for you, so you do not have to fight for a long time.

Gourd Seed #2

This seed can be found on the Outskirts Wall – Stairway where it will be in the building right after the Chained Ogre, and just before the boss fight with General Tenzen Yamauchi.

Gourd Seed #3

This seed can be found in the Ashina Castle Gate, after you have defeated the main boss General Gyoubu Oniwa. In the same place you had a fight with the General, head upstairs. Before you go inside the building, you should walk around to the lef to find another set of stairs.

Climb up and you will find a tent with a merchant. He will sell you this Gourd Seed for 1000 money.

Gourd Seed #4

This seed can be found from the first fast travel point of the Ashina Castle. Once you are here, you need to tur right and jump across the roofs. Now you have to look out for smoke signals on the roofs that show you the way.

Reach the main tower, which is also the tallest in the map, and enter the tower until you reach the Upper Tower – Antechamber idol or fast travel. Inside this chamber will be a treasure chest containing the Gourd Seed.

Gourd Seed #5

From the same first idol of Ashina Castle, you have to head upstairs where there are four enemies standing on the stairs. You can run past them and take a right from the top of the stairs.

Then drop down to a small alley where a man is sitting behind a wall. He will ask you to kill all enemies in this area, for a reward later on. Defeat the enemies, and talk to him again.

To receive your reward, you can find him at the Dilapidated Temple just left of the idol, where he will sell you the Gourd for 2000 money.

Gourd Seed #6

This seed can be found at the Senpou Temple of Mt. Kongo, where you need to reach its first fast travel point. From there you need to follow the trail where the monks are walking around. This will lead you upstairs towards a temple.

Though it will feel like you cant go in there, you can grapple on to the wooden beams above to jump through a hole in the ceiling. Inside you will find three monks praying and the Gourd Seed will be in this ritual room.

Gourd Seed #7

This Gourd Seed can be found in the Under-Shrine Valley area of the game. From this idol of fast travel point, you need to grapple downhill on to a ledge where a single enemy stands.

After the rifleman, you need to turn left and grapple on to tree branch above. Now grapple to the second branch that will be in front of you, and then jump up the wall to your left. There will be 2 more enemies on different platforms. Climb to the very top and you can pick up two items here under a small roof. One of these items is the Gourd Seed.

Gourd Seed #8

To get this Gourd Seed, you need to go to the Mibu Village idol. From this fast travel point, you have to walk inside the village where you will find the seed under a big tree with white leaves.

The tree is easy to spot as it is the only one with leaves, while all the other trees around are dead. This place will also have a lot of enemies gathered around.

Gourd Seed #9

This Gourd Seed can be obtained depending on what game ending you choose. To get this Gourd Seed, you have to go to the Fountainhead Palace. This can only be done after you choose to stay loyal to Kuro when you are confronting the Owl.

First you need to defeat the Corrupted Monk and the Guardian Ape, and then return to the Ashina Castle Upper Tower to the Owl. Decide to stay loyal to Kuro, and fight the Owl. Next you should return to Kuro and talk to him.

Now you need to travel to the Wedding Cave Door idol in Ashina Depths., where in a cave you will have to enter a tent to be transported to the Fountainhead Palace. Head on further in this palace to reach the Palace Grounds.

From the Palace Grounds idol, enter the next building where some enemies are crawling around. There will be a big red chest before opening the next door, and it will contain the Guoud Seed for you to collect.
