The PlayStation 5 is going to be the next-generation console from Sony that will take on the Xbox One Scarlett and Maverick. Very little is known about the upcoming console but a recent job listing mentions the next-generation console and might hint at features that it might have to offer.
While there is little information regarding the PlayStation 5, it is speculated that the console will be revealed this year and will be released in 2020. While this is speculation, it would seem that Sony is working on some kind of streaming service for the PS5. Streaming could be a major feature and selling point for the PlayStation 5. Xbox One Maverick is going to be a totally digital console and Sony might have the same thing in mind as well.
Recent patents also suggest that the upcoming PS5 features might include backward compatibility as well. Which will allow you to play PS4 games or even older titles that you have on previous PlayStation consoles. That would be a very useful feature to have and will allow you to get rid of the older consoles that you have lying around.
