Corrin Detailed Guide – Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Corrin Guide details everything that you need to know about Corrin in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Introduction

Corrin hails from the world of Fire Emblem and comes with a long sword as her primary weapon. She is also able to transform her limbs and arms when she enters the dragon form. During this form she can land special devastating attacks which can knock out enemies easily. Her arms turn into Dragon Fang which are like spears and offer superior range for attacking enemies.

Corrin also has a good attack launch speed meaning that she does not take long to initiate attacks like most long-range fighters in the game. Almost all of her attacks can be used as combos which can keep enemies in the air for a long time. Her main advantage over other fighters is her good range.

She suffers when it comes to recovery time. After landing most of her attacks, Corrin will need a decent amount of time to recover and get back into action. This is something that can be taken against her and players can exploit this while playing against her. Her ground attacks can also be easily blocked or shielded which will result in a combo coming back at Corrin.

Attacks

We have detailed Corrin’s moves below.

Grounded Attacks

We have detailed Corrin’s ground based attack in this section of the guide.

Neutral Attacks

Corrin has a four combo Neutral attacks. The first hit will deal 2.5 damage, the second 2 damage, third 0.5xnumber of hits, 3 and the last one deals 4 damage. For this attack, Corrin will use his left arm and transform it into Dragon Fang for the first hit, after that she will use his sword in an upward slash. The ending of this combo could be a dragon bite attack or a heavy sword slash that sends enemies flying in the air.

The dragon bite deals more damage to the enemies when compared with the heavy sword slash attack at the end of the combo. The only downside of this attack is that the enemies might slip out of the finishing blow which will then not send them flying backwards and they could launch a counterattack. The complete combo is decent for using on enemies who are not using shield at the moment.

Dash Attack

Corrin’s Dash Attack deals 2×5 damage and then finishes up with 3 additional damage. During this attack, Corrin will lunge at the enemy spinning horizontally and using her sword as a drill. This will hit the enemy multiple times and then finally send them flying up in the air at the end of the attack. If you miss this attack, you will be faced with a counter because Corrin will take a small amount of time to recover.

Defensive Attacks

Corrin’s Ledge attack deals 9 damage and Wake-up attack deals 7 damage.

Tilts

Corrin has three Tilt attacks. We have detailed them below.

Side Tilt

It deals 10.5 damage. During this powerful attack, Corrin will spin his sword in a powerful slash in front of him. Any enemies hit by it will be sent flying in the air. This attack offers decent knockback. The only downside with this attack is that is requires a little space to land.

Up Tilt

It deals 9 damage. Corrin will raise her sword in the air and perform a special attack above her head which will clear out the enemies above her and knock everyone back hit by the attack. If you are on the ground, this is a great attack to start with and then juggle the enemy above you with more combos and hits.

Down Tilt

It deals 7.5 damage. For this attack, Corrin will crouch and slash her sword in a low arc in front of her. This will launch enemies in the air where you can easily follow up with another combo or attack. The attack initiates very quickly so there is no initial wait and you can quickly knock the enemies in the air.

Smashes

Corrin has three smashes. We have detailed them below.

Side Smash

It deals 15.2 damage. For this powerful attack, Corrin with transform and send a powerful Dragon Fang towards the enemy in front of her sending them flying back. You can adjust the angle of the hit so that the enemies fly in the respective direction. If you charge the attack, you can create a hitbox in front of you that will also deal damage to enemies as long as you hold the charge.

Up Smash

It deals 15 damage. For this attack, Corrin will launch a dual arm Dragon Fang attack above her which will impale and spike enemies right above her. Enemies at the front and back of Corrin will also get hit if they are crouching near her. The attack is quick and short but it deals quite a bit of damage.

Down Smash

It deals 14 damage. For this attack, Corrin will point the sword in front of her and her Dragon Fang arm behind her and then slash both in the opposite directions in a powerful attack. This attack has a big recovery time so time is accordingly and if you miss, the enemies will be ready to counterattack.

Grabs

Corrin’s normal grab attack deals 1.3 damage while Forward throw will deal 7 damage and Back throw will deal 8.5 damage. Up Throw will cause 6.5 damage while a down throw will result in 9.5 damage dealt to enemies. The front throw attack features the highest knockback of all grab throws. Up can be a good start for juggling while the Down will launch enemies away from Corrin.

Corrin’s grabs are slow in speed but not very slow however the range of grabbing is small. You need to be very close to enemies to grab them. Since grab attacks are Corrin’s weakest of all the attacks, we recommend that you opt for better attacks rather than this one. The grab animation is also long which disables the chance to follow up with an attack.

Aerial Attacks

Corrin has following attacks in her arsenal while she is in the air.

Neutral Air Attack

It deals 7 damage. For this attack, Corrin will use her sword and her right hand in Dragon Form and spin them around herself in a circle dealing damage to any enemy who come in contact with either of her arms. This attack has a decent area coverage and deals quite a bit of damage as well. However, get ready for a long recovery time after the attack which could leave you vulnerable for counter attacks.

Forward Air Attack

It deals 7.5 damage. For this attack, Corrin will use her sword to slash the area in front of her in an arc. This attack also has a decent range and will cover a good area in front of Corrin. You can easily follow up this attack with more combos because the recovery time is good after this attack. Enemies hit by this attack will also remain in the air for a decent amount of time.

Timing is essential with this attack as you can follow this attack with a grab, down tilt or another combo easily after landing this attack. Your offense is everything while playing with Corrin and you must try to land as many combos after attacks as you can. All of her attacks have a decent knockback.

Back Air Attack

It deals 11 damage to enemies. Corrin will develop dragon wings for this attack and extend them behind herself to attack enemies. This attack will also knockback enemies who come in contact with the wings. Corrin will also fly back with the wings so this attack can also be used to gain some quick distance from enemies or escaping potential incoming attacks.

Up Air Attack

It deals 9 damage to enemies. Corrin will attack the area above her with a powerful sword slash in the shape of an arc. Corrin will launch the enemies above her even more higher and follow up with a juggle combo.

Down Air Attack

It deals 2×4, 3 damage to enemies. Corrin will transform both her legs in to a one sharp Dragon Edge fang and come down to the earth from the air in a fiery impact. Any enemies in the way will be meteor smashed while the enemies on the ground will be knocked back due to the impact. This attack is most effective against recovering enemies on the ground.

Special Attacks

Corrin has four special attacks. We have detailed them below.

Neutral Special – Dragon Fang Shot

The projectiles will deal 4 damage while Dragon Bite will deal 10 damage. This is a two-step attack. Corrin will charge a projectile in her Dragon Fang arm and the release it. This projectile attack is followed by a bite of the Dragon Fang. If you charge the Dragon Fang bite, its power will be increased.

This attack can be performed in a variety of ways depending on how much you charge the attacks. You can hold the button to charge the projectile, release it and then hold the button again to charge the bite. The damage both attacks deal will depend on their charge. Above values are mentioned for the fully charged versions.

Side Special – Dragon Lunge

The initial attack will deal 15 damage while the follow up attack with deal 12. For this attack, Corrin will jump forward with Dragon Fang extended in front of her. If this touches the ground or a wall, Corrin can perform four different moves after this. They could range from a rear flying kick, forward flying kick, come back down or jump up in the air.

This attack can be used to performed many different types of attacks easily if you time them right. It works very well against ledge rolls and ground rolls. The timing will need some practice but once you master this move, it will be one of Corrin’s best moves available to you.

Up Special – Dragon Ascent

This attack deals 4.5, 1.2×5 and 3 damage to enemies during the entirety of the attack. For this attack, Corrin will fly in the air and launch nearby enemies above with her and then drill her with different aerial attacks. The direction of her upwards ascend can be controlled with the control stick.

Down Special – Counter Surge

This attack deals a minimum of 10 damage. This is a purely defensive move. Corrin will enter a semi-dragon form and ready to counter all incoming attacks. If someone lands an attack, Corrin will complete her dragon transformation and smash the ground with a powerful AoE attack that will damage the nearby enemies.

Final Smash – Torrential Roar

When the Final Smash meter is full, you can launch the Final Smash Torrential Roar during which Corrin will launch two light beams in both directions. If these beams hit an enemy, Corrin will transform into a giant dragon and unleash a maelstrom that will launch all the players in the air affected by it.
