Mii Swordfighter Detailed Guide – Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mii Swordfighter Guide details everything that you need to know about Mii Swordfighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Introduction

Just like previous Super Smash Bros. games you can create Mii fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate too. You can create them in Mii Fighter tab in Games & More from the main menu. This menu allows you to build your own custom fighter based on your own preferences. You can also import Mii fighters here.

You have the option of choosing their name, colors, headgear, voice tone and pitch and their outfit. The most important aspect to choose her is their fighting style which could be Brawler, Swordfighter or Gunner. Apart from normal attacks, you can choose your own special moves for these custom fighters. We have detailed them below in the Special Attacks section so that you can easily pick the best on for yourself.

Attacks

We have detailed Mii Brawler’s moves below.

Grounded Attacks

This section of the guide details all of Mii Swordfighter’s ground attacks.

Neutral Attack Combo

Mii Swordfighter has a three hit neutral attack combo. The first two hits deal 3 damage each to enemies while the last hit deals 5 damage to enemies. This sword slash attack has good range and can easily attack through enemy attacks which have lower reach. The landing speed is however slower than most combos but the decent range pretty much makes up for it.

Dash Attack

Mii Swordfighter’s dash attack deals 10 damage to enemies. While running, Mii Swordfighter will land a powerful sword swipe in his front dealing damage to enemies. During the swipe, Mii Swordfighter will come to a stop and then land the attack. The landing speed also is slower than most fighters. This is not an ideal attack for most situations. Stick to other attacks against faster enemies.

Defensive Attacks

Mii Swordfighter’s ledge attack deals 9 damage to enemies and wakeup attack deals 7 damage to enemies.

Tilt Attacks

Mii Swordfighter has three tilt attacks and we have detailed them below.

Side Tilt

This attack deals 12 damage to enemies. This is a powerful sword slash attack with decent range. However, it is also a slow attack so you will need to time it right to hit enemies.

Up Tilt

This attack deals 7 damage to enemies. This attack is a quick attack and the sword swipe covers the entire area above Mii Swordfighter. The attack starts from the front and goes all the way to the back. Enemies hit are sent flying in the air above Mii Swordfighter allowing you to follow up with follow up attacks.

Down Tilt

This attack deals 8 damage to enemies. This long reach sword stab attack features excellent range and decent speed. Due to Mii Swordfighter being low for this attack, you will be safe from counterattacks if someone blocks or shields this attack.

Smash Attacks

Mii Swordfighter has three smash attacks detailed below.

Side Smash

This attack deals around 16-22.4 damage to enemies. This is a powerful front sword swing attack that only hits enemies at the front despite Mii Swordfighter swinging from the top.

Up Smash

This is a flurry attack combo and it deals 4, 3, 7-5.6, 4.2 and 9.8 damage to enemies if you land the complete combo. The final hit is the most powerful in the combo. From the ground, Mii Swordfighter will launch up in the air with a powerful spinning slash attack.

Enemies near to Mii Swordfighter at the ground will be taken up and Mii Swordfighter will land the complete combo on them in the air. The landing speed of this attack is also decent making it a good air attack.

Down Smash

This attack deals 12-16.8 damage at the front and 15-21 damage to enemies at the back. The back hit is more powerful than the front one. This powerful dual side sword slash can clear the area around Mii Swordfighter easily if you need some space for yourself.

Grab Attacks

Mii Swordfighter’s normal grab attack deals 1.3 damage to enemies. Both the front throw and back throws will deal 3 and 3 damage to enemies as they are two hit throws. Up throw deals 2 and 3 damage to enemies while down throw deals 2 and 2 damage to enemies. These two are also two hit combo throws.

Up throw will set up enemies above Mii Swordfighter for juggle attacks while down throw bounces enemies off the stage giving you enough time for some more combos. Mii Swordfighter’s throw do not deal too much damage but they give you enough time to land more attacks on enemies.

Aerial Attacks

This section of the guide details all of Mii Swordfighter’s air attacks.

Neutral Air Attack

This powerful attack deals 8 damage to enemies. This powerful slash attack covers all sides of Mii Swordfighter as he spins around with his sword around him. The attack starts from the back and goes all the way around until he is facing back again. You will need to time this attack if you want to hit someone at the front since the attack starts at the back.

Forward Air Attack

This is a three hit combo attack where the first two hits deal 3 damage while the final hit deals 5 damage to enemies. Mii Swordfighter will charge up and then land three powerful sword thrusts three times in his front. The final hit is aimed above and also deals more damage to enemies then the first two hits.

Back Air Attack

This powerful attack deals 14 damage to enemies. Mii Swordfighter will turn around and land a powerful attack to enemies behind. This powerful sword slash can stop any enemy in their tracks however the attack is only active for a short time. You will need accuracy and precise timing to land this attack.

Up Air Attack

This attack deals 16 damage to enemies. For maximum damage, ensure that you hit the enemies early on with this attack. The damage lowers as the attack remains active for longer. This upward attack is a powerful sword hit above sending enemies flying even higher than Mii Swordfighter. For maximum damage, try to hit enemies with this attack as early as possible.

Down Air Attack

This attack deals 1.5×5 attack to enemies. This is a combo of five flurry attacks. If you manage to trap the enemies into the ground, you will deal additional 5 damage to enemies. Mii Swordfighter will come down to the ground with his sword extended down him in a powerful attack. Enemies caught in the spinning hits take extra damage.

Special Attacks

Just like the Mii Brawler and Mii Gunner, you have the ability to pick all four special attacks for Mii Swordfighter as well. Each slot has three choices to choose from. We have detailed all of the available special attacks in each slot so you can easily decide the best one for your build.

Neutral Special Slot

You can pick one from the following three attacks for this slot.

Neutral Special 1 – Gale Strike

This attack deals 13 damage to enemies. Mii Swordfighter will spin and generate a tornado. He will then send it ahead in a long path. As it travels down, it will hit and damage all enemies that come in contact with it. You can launch multiple tornados at the same time making it a very decent attack to choose.

Neutral Special 2 – Shuriken of Light

This attack deals 6.5 damage to enemies. This is a basic projectile attack. Mii Swordfighter will throw his small blade star at the enemies in a straight line ahead. Unlike most attacks, the more distance it travels, higher its damage becomes. It has the least damage right after throwing it so stick to long range if you want to deal some damage with it.

Neutral Special 3 – Blurring Blade

This attack deals 0.8×5, 8-1.9×5 and 19.2 damage to enemies. You can charge this attack to deal more damage to enemies. During this attack, Mii Swordfighter will slash the area in front of his rapidly. The final hit packs the highest punch and it is aimed upward which sends enemies flying.

You can either pick for the fastest combo of this attack or simply hold down the button to charge up the damage to maximum and then release to land an attack which has more power and knockback. You can land this attack both on the ground and the air.

Side Special Slot

For this slot, you can pick one from the following three attacks.

Side Special 1 – Airborne Assault

This attack deals 12 damage to enemies. Mii Swordfighter will roll either left or right depending on your input. During this roll if he comes in contact with an enemy, he will bounce off the enemy after landing a powerful hit. In some situations, you can also use this attack for recovering from off the stage.

Side Special 2 – Gale Stab

This attack deals 8-18.5 damage to enemies. For this attack, Mii Swordfighter will rush at the enemies in his front and land a powerful sword stab. You can also use this attack to recover from off the stage.

You can perform this attack in the air but you should know that the recovery time from this attack is absolutely insane and you will not be able to do anything else until you land on a solid surface. This attack is more suited for ground combat. On the ground you can charge the attack to increase its damage by holding the button.

Side Special 3 – Chakram

This attack deals 1.1×4 damage with Tilt and 8 damage with Snap. This attack has two possible ways to land it. You can use it as a tilt move or the much faster snap move. The tilt attack is much slower but for a smash move, this deals solid damage and it much faster as well.

To switch between the two attack modes, simply input the attack like you do for a tilt attack or a smash attack but press the special attack button instead of the normal attack button. Tilt attack has short range while the smash version is good for long range attacks.

Up Special Slot

For this special attack slot, you can pick one attack from the following three attacks.

Up Special 1 – Stone Scabbard

This three hit combo attack deals 4, 3 and 4 damage to enemies. Mii Swordfighter will jump in the air and then lunge down at the enemies to perform a powerful attack. During both phases, enemies hit by the sword will take damage. You can also use this attack as a recovery move. However make sure that you reach a platform during the ascension otherwise the second phase of attack will take you to the bottom of the screen.

Up Special 2 – Skyward Slash Dash

This special attack deals 2.2, 3×5 and 4 damage to enemies. You can land this attack in any direction you want using the control stick. Before this attack Mii Swordfighter will twirl the sword on the ground and then lunge upwards for a strong multi-hit combo.

Use the control stick to choose a direction for the attack. You will need to set the direction before the attack starts otherwise Mii Swordfighter will launch at the default angle.

Up Special 3 – Hero’s Spin

This attack deals 14 damage if performed on the ground and 3, 2×3 and 5 damage if performed in the air. If you perform this attack in the air, you will not be able to perform any other attack or move until you land back on the stage. This is a very unique attack because it is completely different based on where the attack is performed.

If the attack is performed on the ground, Mii Swordfighter will spin four times and hits enemies around him once with his sword while spinning. In the air, Mii Swordfighter will spin five times and land a combo attack to enemies caught in the attack. You can use this attack as a recovery tool as well.

Down Special Slot

You can opt for one of the following three attacks for this special attack slot.

Down Special 1 – Blade Counter

This attack deals 8-29.4 damage to enemies. This is only a counter move and damage will only be dealt to enemies if someone connects with an attack while you are in this stance. Also the damage sent back to enemies depend on the power of the attack countered. The counterattack hit always faces upwards and enemies are sent flying above Mii Swordfighter.

The damage on the other hand is variable and depends on the strength of the attack connected to Mii Swordfighter during this block phase. You can also use this move in the air allowing you to counter moves in the air. You can use to prevent enemies from recovering as well as their ledge attacks will be countered.

Down Special 2 – Reversal Slash

This attack deals 6 damage to enemies. Enemies hit by this attack will be facing the opposite direction after getting hit. This attack has short range and low damage but it is excellent for confusing enemies. As you land the attack, enemy direction will be changed suddenly and the change of controls will give you an added bonus to land more attacks in their confusion.

Down Special 3 – Power Thrust

This attack can be performed in the air or the ground. If performed in the air, this attack becomes a two hit combo attack and deals 13 and 7 damage to enemies. On the ground, this attack is a single powerful hit that delivers 15 damage to enemies. In the air, this attack is a diving stab attack where additional damage is dealt to enemies when they smash on the ground.

On the ground, Mii Swordfighter will lunge at the enemies with his sword extended in one powerful stab attack. This attack can pierce through multiple enemies but the damage reduces as you travel further. Also maximum damage is inflicted at the tip of the sword.

Final Smash – Final Edge

For the Final Smash, Mii Swordfighter will launch a number of energy projectile in front which go in different directions across the whole stage. This attack is one of those attacks that offer the most stage coverage in the entire game so you can use it safely from the corner of the stage.
