Publisher Warner Bros Interactive has announced that its upcoming Harry Potter RPG called Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed into 2022. Initially announced for a 2021 release, the magical RPG will now release sometime in 2022 with no confirmed release date still in sight. As a matter of fact, very little is currently known about the upcoming RPG at this point.
This was announced by the publisher on the game’s official Twitter account:

The official tweet above mentions no particular reason for the delay and it just states that to make the game good, the game will be given additional time for its development. The original statement states:
We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label. Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs. Hogwarts Legacy will be releases in 2022.
If you go to the very first mention of this Harry Potter RPG, we saw a leak back in October 2018 where a video was leaked on Reddit that showed the RPG title in action. Surprisingly, the leak was pretty accurate and almost a year later of the initial leak, we saw the official reveal of the title by Warner Bros Interactive.
The leak described the game as:
Set in the 19th Century (1800’s) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has eared a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You are a newly arrived 5th year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant ancient power.
Upon arrival, strange events begin to materialize In the Forbidden Forrest and trouble begins o brew within the castle walls. However, while it may have excited a lot of fans, now they have to wait another year for the game to come out but we might start seeing some additional details on the game coming out soon.
