The Division 2 Exotics Guide – How to Get Exotic Weapons

The Division 2 Exotics Guide

In this The Division 2 Exotics Guide, we will show you how you can get the Exotics in the game, and where you can find them. In total, there are 8 Exotics waiting for you to be collected.

Exotics are the rarest tier of weapons in the game, and require a lot of grinding if you want to get your hands on each. Each of the Exotics in the game come with their own unique talents that make them stand out among the rest, and require you to collect all eight of the Exotics.

Since the Exotics are High end weapons, and some being the best guns, obtaining them is easier said than done. These named weapons will require you to go through complex means, that include a lot of grinding to find them in random loot. Its best to be at World Tier 4 or above if you want the most powerful version of the game. anything below World Tier 4 might not give you the weapon’s full potential, or its most powerful version.

The Division 2 Exotics Guide

Below we have listed all the Exotics found in The Division 2, how you can get them, and where you are likely to find them. Some of the Exotics were pre-order bonuses, though we will highlight their features as well.

Chatterbox Exotic P90 Weapon

in order to get this weapon you need to find special parts that are needed to craft this weapon. These special parts are only obtainable by opening up Faction caches. More specifically, you need to open Hyena Caches as they alone contain the Chatterbox crafting blueprint.

The best way is to farm as many keys you can and open as many Hyena caches that you can in order to get all the parts needed for the weapon. Hyena Caches can be found in the following areas:

  • Downtown West Region, where it will be northeast of the Campus Settlement
  • White House Region, where it will be north of the Base of Operations, on the northern part of the map.
  • West Potomac Park Region, where it will outside the Washington Monument, or near the DZ entrance.
  • West End Region, where it will be south of the West DZ entrance.
  • There is a Hyena Cache in the Grand Washington Hotel missions, where it will be in a restroom on the left when you are fighting through the hotel rooms.
  • Jefferson Trade Center, where it will be to the right of the main path door as you enter the room after clearing the parking lot.

Once you have all the parts, you can craft the Chatterbox Exotic Weapon and use it to spray down enemies. The weapon also gives you three Talents. These are the Incessant Chatter, Box Magazine, and Blabbermouth.

Incessant Chatter gives you 1% rate of fire for every shot landed, maximum is 60% and resets upon reloading. Box Magazine Talent gives you 20% magazine refill for kills with this weapon, with a 10 second duration. Lastly, while holstered, Blabbermouth reloads your weapon within 5 seconds after a kill grants 20% rate of fire for 10 seconds.

Lullaby Shotgun

This Exotic is part of the pre-order bonus of The Division 2, that was only available through Amazon. The gun is great to getting started in the game, and is pretty powerful. However, because this is a level 1 weapon in the game, it quickly becomes obsolete as you progress in the game.

This shotgun can do 2,100 damage, while firing at 70RPM. It can hold 8 shots in a full magazine and can reload in 5.4 seconds. This shotgun has decent stability but the accuracy suffers the more you are distant from your target. The damage drop off is significant as you fire from greater distances than 50m, while having no effect in distances more than 100m.

Ruthless Assault Rifle

This is another Exotic weapon that was part of the pre-order bonus. Though a pre-order bonus, it still is not given from the start of the game. if you had pre-ordered the game, you can get this weapon when you reach White House.

Ruthless can be upgraded as you progress with the story, or when you reach end game. it is useful in taking down the Black Tusk when you upgrade it and fight the new faction that will take over in the end game.

This weapon deals 330 damage, and fires at 260 RPM. A full magazine can hold 30 rounds and takes 2.5 to 2.9 seconds to reload. Its accuracy is decent, but stability decreases with shots.

Liberty Pistol

This is another pistol that may not seem special but is worth it. Steps to get this Exotic weapon are pretty similar to how you get the Chatterbox P90 weapon. Simple completing the main story of the game will give you of the components.

The weapon deals extra 100% damage to hostile electronics with its Liberty Talent, while it can highlight enemy weak points and electronics when you aim down the sight.

The Blind Justice talent allows you to destroy hostile electronics, byt making the next bullet deal 500% damage. if you kill an enemy with a single bullet, your magazine is refilled without having to reload, while also giving you 100% damage for the entire magazine.

The Independence refills 20% of the magazine when you destroy any weak points while the Liberty is holstered.

Liberty can deal 41,600 damage when you are at World Tier 4 or above. It fires at 150RPM and can hold 8 bullets in a magazine.

Sweet Dreams

This is another Exotic shotgun that you can find in the game, though getting it when you are at World Tier 4 or above will give you the most powerful version of this weapon. it will deal 103k damage, and fires at 70RPM while holding 8 shots in a full clip.

It comes with the following talents:

Sweet Dreams: Landing a melee attack on an enemy after swapping to this weapon grants 35% bonus armor and applies the Sandman debuff. Killing an enemy with the Sandman debuff reapplies the bonus armor.

Sandman Debuff: This debuff prevents the enemy from using armor kits and from receiving healing from any source.

Evasive: while equipped, dodging reloads 1% of your current weapon’s magazine. This effectively grants you with one bullet ready to be shot when you dodge.

Merciless Assault Rifle

This is another assault rifle in the game that is an Exotic. The Merciless can give you 15,000 damage if you obtain if when you are at World Tier 4. It can hold 30 rounds in a full magazine and fires at 260RPM.

In addition to 15% Critical Hit Damage, it comes with three talents:

Guerilla Warfare: this talent allows you to detonate a primer to deal 75% damage for each primer that is detonated. You can have only one enemy embedded with a primer at a time, while there is a maximum of five.

Binary Trigger: This talent turns this Exotic weapon into a primer/detonator weapon. pulling the trigger once will fire a primer that will stick itself into an enemy. following up with the trigger will detonate any primers in that you have hit on the enemy.

Brutality: Landing a shot with your equipped weapon has a 5% chance to deal 20% more damage as explosive damage.

Pestilence LMG

This is an Exotic LMG that is not really the most powerful, and is the least impressive out of all the other Exotic weapons in The Division 2. The main reason is that it deals far less damage than one can expect, with only 1,000 damage per shot. This number compared to the other Exotics is far less.

Plague is a talent with this Exotic weapon that allows you to for a toxic cloud around the enemy when you hit then more than 20 times with the Pestilence. This cloud deals 200% weapon damage pers second to any enemies nearby.

Nemesis Sniper Rifle

This is an Exotic sniper rifle or marksman rifle that has recently been available through the second update called Tidal Basin of The Division 2. This weapon comes along with the Pestilence LMG.

Finding this weapon requires you to follow certain steps with clues, though the first requirement is to be at World Tier 5. To do that, you need to be at World Tier 4 and then complete the Tidal Basin at least once.

The Nemesis Marksman Rifle quest will require you to complete the Tidal Basin and reach World Tier 5. This can be done by completing new invaded missions and strongholds that are invaded by the Black Tusk. Once you have done these, a second playthrough will be unlocked for the Tidal Basin Stronghold.

Here you will begin the quest for this Exotic weapon. First step is to get the Adrestia-SR1. Playing the Stronghold in normal or hard difficulty will give you a special keycode. This can be used at the Comms Station with the laptop that can be interacted with. Now go upstairs and collect a keycard from one of the bunkbeds.

Take the keycard to the Cargo Bay of the huge Hovercraft that will be at the end of the Stronghold. In the Cargo bay you will have to fight to the control room in the back. Before you leave, use the keycard on the keypad on the left corner. Inside you will find a chest that will contain the Adrestria-SR1

The next step is to get the Exotic Components for the weapon. Dismantle the Adrestia-SR1 as this will give you the first component. The next three components can be obtained by defeating the three Black Tusk bosses; Klutz, Shorty and Prime. These bosses can be found in one of the three invaded World Tier 5 Strongholds. Once you have all the components, you can craft this Exotic sniper rifle for yourself.
