In this Far Cry New Dawn Crafting Guide, we will guide you on how you can craft in Far Cry New Dawn. Crafting is an important mechanic in Far Cry New Dawn and you will spend a good time making new ammo types and other useful items in the game. We will also tell you how you can quickly farm some useful resources which can otherwise take a long time to gather.
You can craft Medkits, throwable explosives, special ammo which are highly effective against enemies and also bigger items such as weapons and even vehicles. If you are unable to craft a weapon or any other item, chances are that your homebase facility is not upgraded so check that as well. The highest rank of all facilities is level 3 so make sure that your facilities are upgraded before you craft elite items.
Crafting Guide – Far Cry New Dawn
Our Far Cry New Dawn Crafting Guide details everything that you need to know about crafting in Far Cry New Dawn.
Gather Resources
Resources are vital for crafting in Far Cry New Dawn. There are different types of resources that you will need in order to craft each item in the game. In order to craft a specific item, you must have those specific resources. You can collect resources by either completing different challenges, extra side quests and collecting them in the wild.
Every location you visit has some certain amount of resources which when collected are displayed on the left side of the screen. Make sure that you completely explore a location and try to collect as many resources as possible. Hunt animals and trade their skins for valuable resources which can be used in crafting.
The following activities or tasks will give you resources.
- Loot Wildlife
- Collect Plants
- Capture Outposts
- Complete Expeditions
- Complete Treasure Hunts
- Loot Highwaymen
- Loot Containers
Another important resource in Far Cry New Dawn is Ethanol. If you want to know how to collect Ethanol, check out our Far Cry New Dawn Ethanol Guide.
Things to Craft
There are three basic things that you can craft in Far Cry New Dawn. They include
- Consumables
- Weapons
- Vehicles
Consumables
You can craft consumables in either your inventory or the weapon wheel. In your inventory, highlight the required item and press the crafting button to craft the item. From your weapon wheel, check for the list at the left side of the screen. Highlight the required item and press the crafting button to craft the item quickly.
Weapons
To craft weapons and upgrades, you must find a workbench. These workbenches could be in the wild or if you cannot find one in the wild, head back to your homebase and use the weapon workbench there to craft weapons or upgrade them. Apart from weapons, you can also craft special type of ammo.
You can craft the special ammo at any workbench in the game just like your weapons. You can craft incendiary, explosive and armor piercing ammo. These special ammo types can take down heavy enemies very easily as compared to standard ammo. You must upgrade your Explosives Lab to get access to better ammo types.
When you do get access to special ammo, simply head to any workbench and shop to craft the desired ammo type. Make sure that you have all the resources required for it. The special ammo is located in the Combat Supplies tab in the workbench menu.
Vehicles
You can craft three types of vehicles in Far Cry New Dawn. These include cars, boats and helicopters. To craft cars, head to your garage, to craft boats, head to the harbor and to craft helicopters, head to your helipad.
Keep in mind that you will need resources to craft all of the items mentioned above. If you do not have the required resources, head back outside and gather up some resources. An easy way to track resources is by marking the item in your inventory and tracking it. This will show you the resources on the game screen making it easier to track down the resources.
Farming Resources Quickly
Resources are not that scarce in Far Cry New Dawn however a little grinding is still required if you want to upgrade your homebase quickly. The best ways to quickly get some resources in the game is to complete as many Expeditions as possible. You will set out of the borders of Hope County and explore the ruins of other Cities and collect resources from there.
Every time you complete an Expedition, it will increase in difficulty but naturally, it will offer more rewards. Upgrade Expeditions facility at your homebase to unlock Expeditions. The second way to quickly get your hands on some resources in completing Treasure Hunts. They are littered all over the map and marked on the map with a diamond icon. Complete these to find resources quickly all across the map. Speak with random NPCs around the Hope County to unlock more treasure hunts.
These two are the fastest ways of earning resources in Far Cry New Dawn. Also if you have access to high level weaponry, abandon an outpost after capturing it until it is taken over by rank 3 enemies which are the hardest. Take over rank 3 outposts to get the most Ethanol and other resources quickly.
