In this the Division 2 Black Tusks Faction Guide, we will show you how you can take on the fourth faction that shows as the endgame content, what missions you have to partake in in order to fight this new faction, and how you can reach World Tier 5.
After you have dealt with the other three factions in The Division 2, a new faction shows up that takes over and poses as a new threat to the city. This faction is a technologically savvy group that considers your presence hostile and will do anything to take you out.
The Black Tusks are the hardest faction in the game, and pose a great challenge for the Agents. If you want you to continue to better your build and to reach World Tier 5, you have to fight the Black Tusks.
The Division 2 Black Tusks Faction Guide
Below we have detailed what activities you can expect in fighting against the Black Tusks, where the faction is located, their Strongholds, and finally detail how you can reach World Tier level 5.
Black Tusks Enemies
This new Faction is the most organized and calculating faction out of all the other factions in the Division 2. They are heavily militarized and their love for the SHD Tech makes them a tough enemy to beat.
They have Drone bots that look like robot dogs. These are called Warhounds where they are powerful robots that shoot bullets that can deplete your armor instantly. The robots on the other hands are heavily armored, while having weakpoints on the legs. Shooting the legs will take them down much faster rather than any other part of the Warhounds.
Black Tusks also use Drones to their best tactic. Every encounter that you have against this faction members, you will notices a few enemies using their drone abilities to attack you. These drones should be taken care of immediately once you spot them coming close to you. Otherwise, they blow up near you and knock you out.
Black Tusks are far better in combat compared to other factions, as they know how to flank, and switch styles to combat in unique ways. This also makes them very aggressive and controlled, forcing you to counter with a very precise and strategic manner.
Black Tusks Invaded Missions
When you start the endgame, you will notice that the Black Tusks have taken over the Campus Settlement, and it will be marked as red on the map. This is an indication of the takeover by the Black Tusks.
To rid the area of this new faction, your job is to reopen the settlement, and complete missions in the region.
These new missions are called the Invaded Missions, where the new faction has taken over in place of the Hyenas, Outcasts and the True Sons. The Black Tusks can be found in 6 different places:
- Air and Space Museum
- Jefferson Trade Center
- Federal Emergency Bunker
- Potomac Event Center
- Space Administration HQ
- Grand Washington Hotel
While the Black Tusks have taken over the same regions as the previous factions, the missions are not exactly the same when you play them. The missions vary in objectives such as downloading data from computers, and protecting while it is being downloaded. They take a long time to download, while you have to fend off enemies.
Other missions ask you to destroy EMP jammers while taking out other enemies in a room.
What differs in these new missions is how many enemies there are. You are expected to fight more enemies, while a more powerful boss fight is waiting for you in the end. The bosses are usually tough enemies with devastating machine guns.
Black Tusks Strongholds
Other than the standard Invaded Missions, there are also 4 Black Tusk Stronghods that you have to complete. These are longer missions, that feature many bosses. Every Stronghold has three bosses waiting for you to fight.
Entering Stronghold is easier said than done, however you still have to unlock them in the first place. Stronghold can be unlocked by completing certain Invaded Missions, and by having enough Gear Score to meet the requirement.
The four Strongholds are:
District Union Arena
This Stronhold can be unlocked after completing Grand Washington Hotel and Jefferson Trade Center Invaded Missions. Your Gear Score should also be 275 or more.
Capitol Building
This Stronghold can be unlocked after complete the Air and Space Museum and Space Administration Invaded Missions. Your Gear Score should also be 325 or more.
Roosevelt Island
This Stronghold can be unlocked after completing Potomac Event Center and Federal Emergency Bunker. Your Gear Score should also be more than 375 or more.
Tidal Basin
This Stronghold can be unlocked after completing all the the District Union Arena, Roosevelt Island, and Capitol Building Strongholds. Your Gear Score should also be more than 425.
World Tiers
World Tiers are endgame content where you can progress through 5 World Tiers progressively, starting from World Tier 1. World Tiers bring you tougher enemies and better loot the more you climb the tiers.
World Tiers are unlocked by first completing the game, and reaching player level 30, which is also the level cap. It is then that you will have World Tier 1 unlocked for yourself.
This also gives you missions as we have mentioned before, like invaded missions and Strongholds in various regions. The best way to progress with World Tiers, is to complete the various Invaded Missions tied to a Stronghold first, rather than diving in with all the Invaded Missions before you go to a Stronghold.
If you do take on all the invaded missions, you are limited yourself to less sub 300 loot for longer duration grinding.
Below we have listed all the level caps for all the World Tiers:
- World Tier 1: The level cap for this tier is 300, while 275 are required to take on the stronghold to advance to the next tier.
- World Tier 2: The level cap for this tier is 350, while 325 are required to take on the stronghold to advance to the next tier.
- World Tier 3: The level cap for this tier is 400, while 375 are required to take on the stronghold to advance to the next tier.
- World Tier 4: The level cap for this tier is 450, while 425 are required to take on the stronghold to advance to the next tier.
- World Tier 5: The level cap for this tier is 500, though there are no more Stronghold in the map and it might be coming in the future with more update content.
